Jacob Loko charged with drink driving

It’s only taken two days into the new year for rugby league to be in the headlines for all the wrong reason.

Former Parramatta Eel Jacob Loko was reported to be four times over the legal blood alcohol limit and driving without his headlights on in the early hours on Friday morning on Sydney’s northern peninsular.

In a statement from the Bulldogs club they “can confirm that Jacob Loko has today been charged with driving under the influence (DUI) after he was pulled over in Manly at 1.15am.”

The Bulldogs will punish Loko after consulting the National Rugby League Integrity Unit.

The 22 year old will appear in a Sydney court on February 26.
