Dragons Name World Club Challenge Squad

The St George Illawarra Dragons have today unveiled their squad for the upcoming World Club Challenge, where they play the Warrington Wolves at The Halliwell Jones Stadium on Friday, February 20.

The 20-man squad features a number of new faces, including Auckland Nines star Eto Nabuli, who lines up on the wing, 19-year old centre Euan Aitken, and veteran Heath L’Estrange.

Josh Dugan, who suffered a minor knee injury in the Charity Shield, and Jack De Belin, who missed the game with a virus, have both been named.

Head Coach Paul McGregor is looking forward to the match and told the Dragons’ website that players had been rewarded for their pre-season form.

“We are very proud to have been invited by the UK Super League to compete in the inaugural World Club Series against the Warrington Wolves,” said Dragons Head Coach Paul McGregor.

“Warrington are a fantastic Club, they have a great Coach and squad who are traditionally a top-four team in their competition so it will be a great challenge for our squad.”

“Our squad is made up of those players who have stood out to me in pre-season training as well as the matches that we have had at the NRL Auckland Nines, against the Mackay Cutters and involved in the recent Charity Shield.”

“This overseas fixture presents a great opportunity for our group, both on and off the field, and everyone is really looking forward to the match and experience.”
