The draw for the Ladbrokes Challenge Cup Fourth Round has taken place this evening in front a packed house at the Provident Stadium, Bradford.
This stage of the competition sees the 12 Championship sides enter the competition to compete along with the 12 winners from the weekend’s Third Round.
The draw, conducted by Leeds Rhinos Prop Jamie Peacock MBE and Hull FC back Leon Pryce, threw up some intriguing ties as always.
The standout tie of the round will see two of the Championship big guns Leigh Centurions and London Broncos come head to head at the Leigh Sports Village, a fixture in which Leigh won in the Championship a small matter of ten days ago.
Bradford Bulls, the side hosting the draw, were handed a tie at Odsal against Championship rivals Workington Town. The other all Championship fixture will see Whitehaven host Featherstone.
And the competition’s three remaining amateur sides were all given mouth-watering home ties with Featherstone Lions at home to York City Knights, Leigh Miners Rangers hosting Oxford RL with Normanton Knights awarded for their progress to this stage with a money spinning game against Batley Bulldogs.
There will be a number of Championship v League One fixtures with Oldham and Newcastle travelling to Sheffield and Dewsbury respectively. North Wales will welcome Doncaster to Wrexham and Hunslet heading to Cheltenham and Halifax to Cumbria respectively to tackle the University of Gloucestershire All Golds and Barrow Raiders.
The draw’s other sees Swinton play Rochdale in an all-League One affair.
