After months of speculation the Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles today confirmed five eighth Kieran Foran’s departure to the Parramatta Eels in 2016.
The move will see the 24-year old-reunited with Brad Arthur who was formerly Geoff Toovey’s assistant at the Sea Eagles in 2013. Foran’s departure will be a bitter blow to the Sea Eagles just a week after half back Daly Cherry-Evans announced he would be joining the Gold Coast Titans in 2016.
“Kieran is a fantastic player and a wonderful young man. He has played an integral role in the Club’s recent on-field successes and will do so for the remainder of this season,” Toovey told nrl.com.
“Kieran has the utmost respect of everyone at the Club and we are proud to have seen him develop into the player that he is today.
“While today’s news is disappointing, we respect his decision and will move on quickly to ensure that’s we’re focused for Friday night’s clash with the Bulldogs at Brookvale Oval.”
Foran burst onto the scene in 2009, and has to date played 129 games, including Grand Finals in 2011 and 2013, winning in 2011. He has represented his native New Zealand on 19 occasions and played for the NRL All Stars twice.
