Souths Logan Magpies v Townsville Blackhawks at Davies Park on Sunday, April 12 – 2pm
An already tough season just looks like getting tougher and tougher for the Magpies. This week they face the undefeated Townsville Blackhawks at home on Davies Park in West End. The Magpies conceded 52 unanswered points last week against the Tigers and given the Blackhawks unstoppable form this season it seems highly likely the same will occur this weekend.
The Blackhawks are a near NRL strength side and as if they weren’t strong enough this week they are further strengthened by the inclusion of boom Cowboys youngster Kelepi Tanginoa.
Josh Hannay is without doubt a good coach however he just does not have the cattle to work with this season. He has made some interesting changes to his line up this weekend; shifting Dylan Taikato-Simpson from five eighth, where he was largely ineffectual last week, to fullback and bringing the talented Josh Damen in from fullback to five eighth, hoping he will be able to spark something by having more time with the ball in hand. Any hope the Magpies have rests on his shoulders and those of captain and halfback Phil Dennis.
Odds: Magpies $5.25, Blackhawks $1.16
