Intrust Super Cup preview – Tweed Heads Seagulls vs Sunshine Coast Falcons
Tweed Heads Seagulls v Sunshine Coast Falcons at Piggabeen Sports Complex on Sunday, April 12 – 3pm
This one promises to be an intriguing affair. Tweed looked like world beaters early in the season, notching convincing wins over the Devils (34-10) and the Dolphins 42-28, however since halfback Kane Elgey has been promoted to the Titans they have struggled. In Shaun Carney, James Woods, Kalifa Faifai Loa, Matt Srama, Davin Crampton and Blake Anderson they have plenty of talent, they just need their halves to get a good rhythm going in attack.
Conversely the Falcons are riding high after their first win of the season and bolstered by their Storm contingent will put up a stern challenge for the Seagulls. Look for Young Tonumaipea, as he pushes for an NRL recall, and Ben Hampton who starred with a hat trick last weekend to lead the way.
Odds: Tweed Heads $1.45, Falcons: $2.75
Prediction: Tweed are a good side, especially at home and should win, however I can definitely see the possibility of the Falcons securing another upset, the Falcons by 4.
