Preview

The Newcastle Knights will host the North Queensland Cowboys at Hunter Stadium this Saturday 25th of April, on ANZAC day.

The last clash between these two sides was in round 2 of this season and Newcastle Knights pulled off the impossible, beating Cowboys by two in front of the Cowboys home crowd at 1300 Smiles Stadium. Both teams played a thrilling game but Newcastle Knights came out on top.

It will be a fierce competition between these two sides. The Cowboys have had a brilliant couple of weeks with Johnathon Thurston (JT) leading his team to victory. JT will ensure to be at his best as well as put his team in the best position to win this game. Last time these two teams played, JT got a hammering from the Newcastle knights, battered and bruised resulting in a black eye. They were very physical and definitely will bring that again on Saturday. The Cowboys have been looking strong and have a good headspace which will be needed for this great contest.

The Newcastle Knights have also been looking strong just being below the cowboys on the ladder. They will be coming off three losses in a row and will be looking for redemption especially in front of their home crowd. Kurt Gidley has been quiet but very effective on the field. With the news of Beau Scott signing with the Eels mid-week may have an effect on teammates but otherwise they don’t have many other distractions around them.

Prediction Newcastle Knights by 6
