Season to Date

With “The Big Three” all in their 30’s the Melbourne Storm’s season was written off before it had begun with pundits claiming that they were too old. However, the rest of the team is relatively young and form players Marika Koroibete, Jesse Bromwich and Will Chambers have proved that the Storm is more than a three-man team.

Billy Slater’s troublesome shoulder has allowed Cameron Munster to play and he has proved himself early on in his NRL career. The Storm have been as resilient in defence as ever, with three of the Storm’s four losses have only been by 2 points.

Finals Bound?

To make the top eight Melbourne need to keep producing what they have so far and manage the game time of the big three. They managed well in Slater’s absence earlier this season but the loss of halfback Cooper Cronk could be more problematic for the Storm. In the last two seasons, Melbourne have finished the season with a whimper so they need to build up form towards the finals.
