The Dons were close to London at half-time, only 10-4 down, but, despite it being London’s third game in seven days, their full-time fitness and overall talent did seem to play a big part in proceedings as they ran away with the spoils. Ben Hellewell and Liam Welham swapped scores for both sides during the first quarter, but Hellewell’s try was converted while Welham’s wasn’t so London had a two point buffer before Elliot Minchella extended that with a four pointer of his own. A Wes Naiqama penalty goal after half-time kept the Broncos tally ticking over before Hellewell recorded his second try of the day on 62 minutes. Rhys Williams put the game beyond Doncaster’s reach when he touched down three minutes after Hellewell, who ended up with a hat-trick for his troubles after his third try-scoring effort with 12 minutes left of the game.
