Both sides go into this weekends crucial clash after having tight defeats against top 3 sides last weekend.

Whitehaven travelled to Castle Park in Doncaster to take on Sheffield Eagles with an unfamiliar 2pm kick off on a Saturday. Eagles took a 16-4 lead into the break but in the early stages of the second half the Cumbrian side got it back to 16 all with two tries from Scott McAvoy. Both sides had opportunities but it was the Eagles that took them to run 26-16 winners.
It took Leigh to score 3 late tries when down to 12 men to secure the victory at the Fox’s Biscuits Stadium against Batley. The bulldogs held a 12-10 lead as clock ticked past the hour mark and should have been confident of getting a result which would have been Leigh’s second defeat in a row. But two tries from Adam Higson with Jake Emmitt scoring in between to hand the Bulldogs their sixth consecutive loss.
The key battle could be the forwards with both sides looking to be lighter in the pack than they would both like with key players missing. How both sides deal with this could be key especially if the pitch is wet like it’s forecast to be.
Both sides need a victory to avoid being cut adrift at the bottom and both sides are missing players. Haven just to grab the victory with home advantage playing a part – Haven by 14
