Kingstone Press Championship Match Preview – Batley Bulldogs V Doncaster

It’s a clash of the bottom two as Doncaster travel to Fox’s Biscuits stadium to take on John Kear’s Batley in which new Doncaster Coach Gary Thornton returns to his old side.

Last Time Out
Batley travelled to Osdal and were still in the game till Shaun Ainscough was sin binned and then sent off for dissent within 30 seconds meant Bradford crossed for three tries in the final 14 minutes and despite being top after the game, coach James Lowes wasn’t interested. “I’m not interested in being too – we are only there by default as Leigh have a game in hand de to their involvement in the Challenge Cup.”

Doncaster labelled their game against Whitehaven as “This Is It” and it was but unfortunately it was for the West Cumbrian side as they put 50 past Doncaster without them scoring a point, Donny worked well and scored three tries when Haven had took their foot off the gas but the damage was done as another nail was put in the coffin.

Key battle
Despite his sending off Shaun Ainscough should be available for this week’s game. The ex-SL Player has played all around the back this season and will be comfortable running from anywhere, the same could be said for Lee Waterman who looks more like a prop than a full back, his power in attack will help Donny’s go forward

Prediction – Both sides have forgotten how to win, Batley lost the last 12 of 13 and Donny are a losing steak of 23. Batley will get their first win in 8 – Batley by 14
