Kingstone Press Championship Match Preview – Workington Town V Leigh Centurions

Workington come in to the game on the back of 5 matches without a win while Leigh come into the game with a loss in Challenge Cup Quarter finals against Warrington.

Last Time Out
Workington travelled to Castle Park to take on Sheffield, Jarrod Sammut made his town debut but admitted he struggled to make an impact as Town fell to a 26-6 defeat. Brett Carter scoring their only try of the afternoon.

Leigh made the short trip to Warrington for one of their biggest matches in recent history as they met in the Quarter finals. Leigh led 14-12 at half time but a heroic effort from Kevin Penny changed the momentum and Wire won 34-24

Key Battle
Sammut V Brierley. Maybe something we were expecting in the middle 8’s as Leigh took on Wakefield but it’s come early as Sammut will make his home debut for Town. One of the shortest pitches in Rugby League can test kickers but both of these players are class players and they will be looking to get their side on top.

Prediction – We all know what Leigh can do if they perform to their absolute best – Leigh by 32
