Kingstone Press Championship Round 21 – Dewsbury Rams 24-12 London Broncos

Dewsbury completed the ‘double’ over London Broncos at the weekend, and they had to do it with 12 men for most of the match after Ryan Fieldhouse was dismissed in the 21st minute for a high tackle on London half-back William Barthau. Karl Pryce put Dewsbury in the lead with a quick-time brace against his former club before Wes Naiqama hit back with a score of his own. Fieldhouse was then sent off but Dewsbury stayed in control on the scoreboard for the rest of the match and their lead was extended when Nathan Conroy touched down with five minutes of the first half to go. Three penalty goals in the second half from Brett Seymour solidified Dewsbury’s lead. Two of those goals came before Oscar Thomas could notch a four pointer to give London a bit of hope with 20 minutes of the game left. But, the final scoring act was from Seymour’s boot as he put two scores between his Rams and their southern counterparts on 79 minutes. A job well done for Glenn Morrison’s men who have made a statement to their fellow Championship Shield contenders.
