Home Ground: Browne Park, Rockhampton
Coach: Kim Williams
Last Year: 14th – 1 win – 22 losses – 0 draw
After a disappointing season the Capras are looking for a solid return to the wins column under coach Kim Williams, who is taking a no nonsense approach to discipline as he looks to rebuild after a terrible 2015.
As the standard of the teams across the competition has lifted, the challenge has increased proportionately and with many new players now with the squad they need to improve beginning with a round 1 match against their nearest enemy the Mackay Cutters. It is essential that the club shows some improvement as they venture in to the new season.
Round 2: Hosting the Norths Devils: When you are looking to improve, it is better to compare against some of your ladder neighbours from the previous season. A yardstick game for both clubs.
Round 3: Hosting the Ipswich Jets: The rebuilding Jets will also provide a measure of the clubs prospects for the season. The current title holders will be coming off a tough game and the Capras should have a chance to show some progress.
Round 10: Away to the Townsville Blackhawks: They have the weekend off before this game and they will need it against one of the toughest sides in the league. Not expected to win, but you get to see the character of a side in games like this one.
