Swinton Lions 28-18 Oldham Roughyeds

In the battle of the Championship strugglers, Swinton Lions registered their first win of the season with a ten point triumph over Oldham Roughyeds. It was plain sailing for the Lions in the first half as they held a 24-0 lead at the break. Tries from Rhodri Lloyd, Chris Atkin, Connor Dwyer and Corbyn Kilday put their side in a very healthy position for the second half. It got better in the opening stages of the final 40 minutes, too, as Dwyer doubled his tally for the tie. The Roughyeds did show some fight with three tries on the bounce. Cutting the deficit by 16 points, tries from Danny Grimshaw, Adam Files and Jon Ford gave the visitors a bit of a chance but Swinton held out for a big win.
