Halifax 23-14 Dewsbury Rams

In this all West Yorkshire clash, it was Halifax who triumphed over Dewsbury at The Shay. The first half was a tough encounter but it was Fax who held the advantage at 12-8. Gareth Moore opened the scoring for Halifax but just three minutes later came a reply from Dewsbury in the shape of Dalton Grant. The Welsh winger, who has been a regular visitor to the whitewash in his time at the Rams, got over once again as he tied the game. Dewsbury edged in front through a James Glover penalty goal before Halifax struck a minute before the break thanks to Gareth Potts. The four point lead was extended by an Adam Tangata try on 45 minutes but, even after Steve Tyrer’s penalty goal put two scores between the teams, the match continued to be a close affair when Etu Uaisele touched down for the Rams. However, Fax performed well in defence and saw the game out well as Tyrer slotted over a penalty goal before chief operator Scott Murrell kicked a one pointer.
