Bradford Bulls were victorious against Sheffield Eagles at SHU Sports Park in what was Rohan Smith’s first game in charge of the West Yorkshire side. The Bulls were 25-14 winners over their fellow full-time counterparts and it was Sheffield who scored the first two tries of the game courtesy of Rob Worrincy and Cory Aston. Oscar Thomas did strike back for the visitors before half-time as his side went into the break four points down.
In the second half, Worrincy added his second try of proceedings to extend Sheffield’s lead to two scores but that was the Eagles’ final four pointer of the game as Bradford came into their element in the final quarter. Tries from Danny Williams and Adam Sidlow put Smith’s team ahead for the first time in the contest before Thomas kicked a drop goal to make it a five point game with ten minutes to go. The match was all wrapped up when Welham crossed the whitewash with seven minutes to spare.
