Featherstone Rovers 58-12 Swinton Lions

Featherstone Rovers bounced back from their Summer Bash nightmare by hammering Swinton Lions at the Big Fellas Stadium. A 58-12 win will come as good timing for Jon Sharp’s men who are still in the race for a top four finish, more so after Bradford’s loss this afternoon. It was Featherstone who kicked off the scoring through Jordan Baldwinson before Swinton replied with a try of their own thanks to Nick Gregson. Baldwinson and Liam Marshall then swapped converted tries for both sides and in-between those scores were sin-binnings for Bradley Tagg and Shaun Robinson of Featherstone and Swinton respectively. The final try of the first period went to the hosts, and Danny Craven, but the conversion attempt was unsuccessful.

Two tries in the opening ten minutes of the second half blew Swinton away and Featherstone were well in control. John Davies and Jamie Cording both got on the scoresheet before the Lions completely caved in to the pressure put on by the Rovers. Kyle Briggs, Craven, Kyran Johnson, Tagg and Ian Hardman all registered four pointers for the West Yorkshire outfit who returned to the top four.

Prediction – Featherstone by 10
