Haven sign Welsh International

Whitehaven RL are delighted to announce the signing of utility player Lewis Reece on a one year deal.

The Welshman has represented his country with eight appearances while having played at Gloucestershire All Golds and South Wales Scorpions/Ironmen. He also extends the options for Carl Forster for goal kicking. The Welshman is at home in either the forwards or the backs and has played a number of positions for club and country.

Head coach Carl Forster said “Happy to get him, he was the stand out player in the south Wales and Gloucestershire teams we played this season, he’s a big lad and a strong runner. Being able to play back row and centre will add good depth into the squad and looking forward to see how he goes.”

Lewis said “I’m very happy that a RL club like Whitehaven had contacted me and offered me a contract. From playing Whitehaven over the years it was always in my opinion the toughest side to face. I would like to thank the  head coach Carl Forster and my agent Ian Gormley for making the move happen. I am looking forward to meeting new people and making a name for myself at the club  and I’m also looking forward to playing in front of the Haven fans.”
