Castleford Tigers have repaid the faith in Paul McShane by offering the hooker a contract extension until 2022.
McShane has been with the club since 2015 and has appeared for the Tigers on 63 occasions.
Prior to joining the Cas’, McShane spent time at Leeds Rhinos between 2009 and 2013, and Wakefield Trinity during 2014 and 2015. He was loaned out by the Rhinos in 2010 to Hull FC and 2012 to Widnes Vikings.
This is an excellent move from the Yorkshire club to secure part of their ‘spine’ long-term with many predicting McShane could be on course to play International rugby league for England in the near future.
Cas’ head coach Darryl Powell told the Castleford Tigers website: “I am absolutely delighted that Paul McShane has agreed to extend his deal here at Castleford Tigers. He has become one of the leading hookers in world Rugby League over the last year and I am confident he will continue to improve over the period of his contract and achieve his aims of being an international rugby league player.”
The Tigers will face St Helens in a blockbuster round 1 fixture on February 2 at Totally Wicked Stadium.
