PREDICTIONS | Round 29 Super League

The final week of the regular Betfred Super League season and all is still to play for. Four teams battle it out at the bottom, while play-off spots are still to be sorted. Let’s take a look at this week’s games…

Wigan Warriors vs Castleford Tigers (Thursday, 7:45 pm)

Wigan, looking to hang onto their second spot, come off the back of a strong win over the Catalans Dragons. Bevan French looks a game-changer, alongside a revitalised Zak Hardaker.

Castleford’s win over Hull FC last week gave them the advantage in the play-off push, Jake Trueman’s hat-trick the standout. He’ll need to recapture that form for Cas to grab the win.

Prediction: Wigan 26-14 Castleford Tigers

Salford Red Devils vs Hull Kingston Rovers (Friday, 7:45 pm)

Play-offs guaranteed it looks job done for Salford. However, their fans are expecting more and more. They have shown they can win tough in recent weeks, I think that will be the case again.

How things could have been different for KR. Yet, a late try has made this a must-win game. Out of the bottom sides, it’s the toughest game. It’s make or break time for many of the squad.

Prediction: Salford Red Devils 28-22 Hull KR

Huddersfield Giants vs Catalans Dragons (Friday, 7:45 pm)

Huddersfield come off the back of a tough loss to St. Helens and have just one win in their last five. Their last meeting with the Dragons was a close match, but they need to go one step further.

Since their win over Warrington, Catalans have tailed off. Safe from relegation, not pushing for play-offs, motivation seems to be lost as the off-field drama has hit the headlines.

Prediction: Huddersfield Giants 26-12 Catalans Dragons
