One of the good things about the Dragons season was the fixture against Wigan at the Nou Camp. The game had a Super League regular season attendance record of 31,555 and Les Dragons beat the Warriors, 33-16.

They were the first team to Saints this season, one of the three defeats the Champions suffered in the League (the other two coming against London Broncos).

What was not so good about their season?

August 3rd 2019, the ugly scenes that transpired after the match against Warrington at the Brutus brought a bad light on the game. Fighting happened both on and off the field, with two Dragons players sent off (Sam Tomkins and Michael Mcllorum) and one Wolves player sin binned (Jake Mamo).

After a successful game at the Nou Camp earlier in the year, this incident could have damaged the reputation of the game. It has recently been announced that the Dragons had been fined £27,500, with the Wolves fined £15,000 for the incident.

The back end of the year for the Dragons also was a car crash. Only winning three games from June till the end of the season, losing their last five games. Something that Steve McNamara needs to improve on especially as they only finished a place higher than 2018 and got knocked out of the Challenge Cup in the Quarter-Finals.

Tony Gigot. After winning the Lance Todd trophy last season, Gigot backed it up again. Linking with Sam Tomkins and Samasongi Langi to bring the early season success for the Dragons.  Gigot made five drop goals, 13 try assists, and 65 tackle busts during the season. Headed to rugby union, he showed why he is one of the Leagues best and could leave Catalans with an experience gap heading into 2020.
