Kick-off: Thursday 22nd September, 5:30pm

Head-to-Head

Last Five Results: Hull KR 8-28 Castleford (27/02/20), Hull KR 27-26 Castleford (04/08/19), Castleford 32-16 Hull KR (01/03/19), Castleford 24-24 Hull KR (17/06/18), Hull KR 14-42 Castleford (01/06/18)

Preview

Both teams need a win at the Totally Wicked Stadium as they look to build momentum heading into the 2021 season. Castleford were hammered by Hull FC on Sunday, while Hull KR edged out a depleted Salford Red Devils side last time out.

Daryl Powell has made four changes to his 21-man squad with Derrell Olpherts, Greg Eden, Daniel Smith and Dan Fleming coming into the side. Gareth O’Brien, Tyla Hepi, Matt Cook and Brad Graham make way.

Tony Smith changes three from the squad that beat Salford with Will Dagger, Nathaniel Peteru, Dan Murray returning to the side. Mitch Garbutt, Ryan Brierley and Matty Storton all miss out.

Prediction

Cas have struggled since the restart and find themselves third bottom of the table after a run of five consecutive defeats whilst the Robins snapped their own five-game losing run with a narrow win against Salford. The Tigers beat Rovers earlier in the season and I think they’ll repeat that success on Thursday evening in what could be an exciting game.
