Top Five Buys for the 2021 NRL Season

4. Kyle Flanagan – Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs

For years the Bulldogs have been without a genuine halfback. With no disrespect intended to those who’ve donned the number seven, they have longed for a player who can steer the team around the park with direction and a silky kicking game.

Flanagan, who was harshly axed by the Roosters for no reason other than salary cap pressure, is also a top goal kicker and is the type of player the Bulldogs have been searching for.

Kieran Foran was one such leader, but his inability to stay on the park meant they needed to search for younger talent. Flanagan fell into their lap and now has a chance to rise to the heights under attacking wiz Barrett, who got the best out of Nathan Cleary at Penrith.
