The Titans thrived at this time last season as they went on a five-match winning streak to end the season, albeit against clubs that didn’t make the finals.

With the remainder of the season set to be played in Queensland, they will enjoy being on familiar ground in their quest to play finals footy.

It’s an unkind draw, with the Rabbitohs and Storm in back-to-back weeks, followed by fellow contenders Newcastle in the penultimate round. The Knights game will seal their fate if they can’t get any points in the next fortnight.

They’ll need to score points to beat the Storm and Rabbits. While David Fifita continues to be talked about as one of the most impactful forwards in the game, ultimately it’s the space provided by the halves that helps him.

Off-contract half Ash Taylor has a huge month ahead of him. At some point Jamal Fogarty may return to the fold despite the impressive start to Toby Sexton’s career. That’s a lot of weight carried on the halves pairing to make it happen.
