It’s been another fantastic NRL season and with the regular season now complete, here’s a look back at the standout players of the year.
The following three players have all had outstanding campaigns and excelled in their position on the field.

With 28 tries to his name, Tom Trbojevic has had the best season of his career so far. The Manly Warringah Sea Eagles star was very clinical over the try line and has had an incredible season, despite having to miss the opening five rounds of the campaign.
The man from New South Wales returned to the team in round six, picking up the Man of the Match award in a 36-0 victory over the Gold Coast.
Unfortunately for Sea Eagles supporters, Trbojevic was unable to lead his side to the Grand Final. They were beaten by the South Sydney Rabbitohs, who are now the underdogs according to all of the competitive betting sites in Australia, for the match against Penrith Panthers. As such, Panthers fans, known for their passion for the game, will be falling over themselves to find the best odds and bonuses from Australia’s top six betting agencies, to use in support of their team.
Meanwhile, the Sea Eagles will still be amongst the favourites in the outright market for the 2022 NRL season. Particularly if Trbojevic continues to score as heavily as he did, they’ll have an excellent chance of lifting the trophy.

Winger Reuben Garrick topped the charts in the NRL in 2021 for points. He scored 304 in total, which included 21 tries and 110 field goals. The Sea Eagles winger was excellent in both areas of his game (running with the ball and kicking between the sticks).
Garrick landed a number of awards at the end of the regular season for his contribution to his side. He was heavily involved in the Try of the Year and was so difficult to defend against throughout the year.

Newcastle Knights hooker Jayden Brailey made more tackles than any other player in the NRL this season. It was a fantastic comeback to the sport as he missed the majority of 2020 due to a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament.
Brailey has just signed a three-year extension to his contract at Newcastle, so the Knights have locked down their star hooker ahead of the 2022 campaign.
Hopefully, next season produces more great moments and the shortlist for the player of the year is even bigger.
