2022 NRL All Stars: Teams and History

The All Stars game at Parramatta will be the 11th edition of the season opening game which has featured the Indigenous All Stars playing against the NRL All Stars, World All Stars and Maori All Stars.

The NRL All Stars recorded back-to-back victories in the event in their 36-28 win over the Indigenous All Stars after trailing 22-12 at the half-time break.

Tries to Paul Gallen, Shaun Kenny-Dowall and Akuila Uate in the second quarter guided the NRL All Stars to their first victory of the event over the Indigenous All Stars.

Jamie Soward’s match-winning try in the 74th minute saw the Indigenous All Stars defeat the NRL All Stars 16-12. Preston Campbell was the captain of the inaugural Indigenous side while Darren Lockyer was nominated as the skipper for the NRL All Stars outfit. Wendell Sailor was the first try scorer in the event’s history, crossing over after three minutes.

Note: no event was held in 2014 or 2018.
