Both sides are unlikely to play finals footy in 2022 but the side that walked away with a victory from the contest would still be considered a mathematical chance.
The Raiders were at home and what followed was a footy that was as unpredictable as the weather.
Both teams scored a try within the first ten minutes but as the rain started to drizzle down the Raiders took control of the match.
They finished with two tries to take the lead at halftime and with their momentum looked likely to score in the final seconds of the half.
The momentum continued into the second half for the green machine with Hopoate scoring inside the first set.
The Dragons struggled with their discipline and were unable to play at the speed required to break the Raiders defence down.
The rain disappeared and the sun bathed the field as the Dragons halves started to dominate the match with Hunt’s kicking game taking control and Amone crossing for his hattrick.
The young five-eighth set up the final try of the match with Zac Lomax’s kick for goal missing to the left.
The Dragons had one final chance with a break to Feagai but the Raiders were able to hold on and take a two point victory.
