MATCHDAY PREVIEW

Bundaberg hosts this inaugural clash between the Bulldogs and the Dolphins.

Cameron Ciraldo will welcome no less than seven players back from injury and illness, none more important than Viliame Kikau.

The star recruit has played only a handful of games this season thanks to concussion and a torn pectoral.

Wayne Bennett will also get a few key players back, including Jeremy Marshall-King.

The forward battle will be an interesting one, with the experience of the Dolphins up against the likes of Kikau, the returning Jacob Preston, and new recruit Liam Knight.

Perhaps the key to a Bulldogs victory here will be halfback Toby Sexton, who was instrumental in the club’s win over Souths two weeks ago before succumbing to an 11-day concussion stand down in the next game.

His ability to direct traffic and free up Matt Burton also saw the team pile on 24 points against a red-hot Broncos outfit at Belmore.

If the Bulldogs pack – in particular Kikau and Tevita Pangai Junior – can match it with the Dolphins’ big men then they’re in with a real chance to nab the two points here.
