It’s fair to say no one would’ve predicted The Dolphins and Broncos would be undefeated heading into this historic first match between the two sides, in front of what is sure to be a bumper crowd at Suncorp Stadium.
It was the two Dolphins wingers that did the damage in last week’s 36-20 win over the Knights, with Tesi Niu and Jamayne Isaako sharing five tries between them, while a staggering final 10 minutes that included four tries set up the Broncos’ big 40-18 win over the Dragons.
Changes will need to be made for The Dolphins, as Felise Kaufusi is set to miss four weeks due to suspension. On a positive note, Jarrod Wallace returns after missing round three due to personal reasons, while the Broncos are unchanged from last week.
The battle in the middle will be the highlight of this clash as Broncos enforcer Payne Haas goes head to head with Dolphins workhorse Jesse Bromwich. Both teams rely on these stars to get their team on the front foot, so this match up will be key in deciding the result.
Pressure will be on Kodi Nikorima at dummy half, with Jeremy Marshall-King still out suspended. Marshall-King was enjoying a strong start to the season and The Dolphins will rely on Nikorima to keep that going to assist Sean O’Sullivan and Isaiya Katoa in the halves.
For the Broncos, Adam Reynolds has been in good form through the first three rounds, with four try assists to his name so far, while Reece Walsh has been a terrific spark since missing the opening round with injury.
