MATCHDAY PREVIEW

Can the Bulldogs continue their gritty defensive resolve, or will the Dragons be buoyed by their huge win in Melbourne?

Both teams have had far better years than previous, with Shane Flanagan instilling belief in his side for the first time in a long time.

While the Bulldogs had a very tough win over the Raiders, Cameron Ciraldo will want more from his men away from home at a sold-out Kogarah. Just how long can Canterbury keep up their incredible defensive resolve?

Earlier this season the Bulldogs thumped St George at Accor Stadium (44-12), but it’s hard to see a similar result here.

Both sides have named unchanged 17s from last weekend.

The Bulldogs continue to win games on the back of their rock-solid defence, something the Dragons also displayed on the weekend and at times this season. Their problem is consistency.

No doubt this will be a brutal match that could see the Bulldogs move into the top four, or the Dragons into the top eight on more than points differential.

Canterbury have won three of the last four clashes against the Dragons (and lead the head-to-head 28-17 since 1998) but haven’t beaten them at Kogarah since 2018.

If the Bulldogs can take the same attitude they took to Suncorp two weeks ago, it’ll prove a hard task for the Red V. Although they’ll be primed for a huge performance at home.

Head-to-head stats can be found at Number Crunch Stats.
