The 34-year old arrives from French Elite One side Lezignan Sangliers, who he has been playing for since the beginning of the current season.

Pomeroy spent two years at fellow Super League side Catalans Dragons, as well as past stints with NRL sides Penrith Panthers and Cronulla Sharks.

The Australian made four appearances for the Wolves during his brief stint in 2018, scoring four tries and helping his side retain Super League status.

“I’m very excited about returning to Warrington,” said Pomeroy. “I always wanted to come back at some point so it’s great that the opportunity has come about so soon.

“I enjoyed my time with the club last year and it’s great to see the team going well on the field this season. I can’t wait to get started.”

Steve Price hinted that it was centre/back rower’s versatility which will be a key asset for the Wolves, given the current injuries to Toby King and Ben Currie.

“He’s a team-first player and can play in a number of positions; in the back row as well as at centre,” Price said.

“He played a few games here at Warrington last year and he’s someone who everyone loves playing with. I had no hesitation in getting him back over here.”
