The Canterbury- Bankstown Bulldogs have successfully defeated the Warriors 24-12 after a dominant performance at Forsyth Barr Stadium.

The home-side (Bulldogs) were able to record their first win of the 2017 season.

Positive Signs for Moses Mbye

Moses Mbye had one of his best games as halfback I have seen.

He was not afraid to take on the line, gained metres when required, set up Brett Morris for a try after a terrific pass as well as scoring the first try for the Dogs.

After copping a lot of criticism in the past couple of weeks after failing to impress in the halves, he stood up for his team against the Warriors to assist the get the much-needed victory.

He has lots of potential and tonight was a preview of what is to come this year. Bulldogs fans should be very proud and excited for the season that awaits him.

Bulldogs impress in defence

The Bulldogs defended their line with determination to avoid the Warriors from scoring. The Warriors were given a few sets in a row after Bulldogs players were deemed to โ€˜play at the ballโ€™ but only let them through twice throughout the whole night. A very positive sign for the Dogs as defence is a critical aspect to the game.

The forwards were terrific with assisting the Dogs to defend their line and probably the most interesting/ entertaining play of the game was when the Captain James Graham thought he was playing fullback and attempted to kick on the sixth tackle.

Warriors unable to capitalise on opportunities

Warriors were awarded repetitiave sets and had the opportunity to score but were unable to capitalise.

Shaun Johnson had fancy footwork throughout the night and looked threatening but his team were unable to work out a set attacking play which worked in their favour.

After losing captain and fullback Roger Tuivasa- Sheck proved costly for them after they werenโ€™t able apply pressure or score the points to win

Dream come true debut for Marcelo Montoya

Debutant Marcelo Montoya had the debut of a life-time after successfully scoring for the boys in blue and white. He was evidently emotional after scoring and put into perspective to fans how much it means for hard work to pay off.

Montoya scored a try for the Bulldogs in the second half, made a line break and ran a total 101 metres throughout the game having a very dominant debut.
