Tigers Away Woes
The Wests Tigers appear to have trouble winning games away from their Sydney home, as they have lost 15 of their last 19 games away from the Sydney district. The Tigers looked brilliant in their first 2 games of the season, which were coincidentally at their two home grounds, Campbellton Stadium and Leichhardt Oval. However,they struggled to continue their current form on the Gold Coast, against a side which they were expected to beat.
Building a Fortress
The Titans are slowly but surely turning Cbus Super Stadium back into the fortress that it was in the early years of the Titans inception. The win against the Tigers was the Titans 5th home victory in a row, including wins in the back end of the 2015 season. Although the crowd figure was once again relatively small for Saturday nights game, the crowds should start to blossom if the Gold Coast can continue to win games.The Gold Coast can expect their biggest home crowd of the year in 2 weeks time when they take on local rivals the Broncos.
Titans can score points
So far in season, the Titans have shown they have plenty of points in them, scoring 30 points in both Round 1 and 3. Even in defeat against the defensively strong Storm last week, the Titans managed to record a healthy 16 points. Despite having a brand new halves pairing of Ash Taylor and Tyrone Roberts, the Gold Coast have shown some enterprising play to record 76 points in the first three games.
Unlucky Naiqama
Kevin Naiqama has been in career best form in the early stages of the season, laying on plenty of tries for his outside men in the early rounds, and crossing for a treble of his own against the Titans. However, the electrifying outside back appeared to suffer a serious injury to his shoulder when scoring his third try spectacularly. Tigers faithful will be hoping that Naiqama’s injury is nothing too serious, as the 27 year old adds tremendous punch to the Tigers backline.
