The traditional Good Friday clash between the Bulldogs and Rabbitohs will be played in round 6 of the NRL season. We take a look at some of the interesting stats coming out of the Easter round matches.

South Sydney Lead the Overall Head-to-Head

So the Rabbitohs lead the Good Friday clashes 7-5 and have won the last twelve clashes.

They did it pretty easy on the scoreboard last season, but a badly timed sin bin cost the Bulldogs.

The Away Team Has a Better Record

The Good Friday has always been played at the Olympic ground, which is convenient as both teams share this ground as their home base for games.

But interestingly, the โ€œawayโ€ team has a much better record than the โ€œhomeโ€ team (8 wins to 4 wins).

Under 39.5 Points Looks Alright

The early Sportsbet market has the Total Points Over/Under at 41.5, and looking at the record, we think itโ€™s worth a go at the Under 41.5 start currently being offered.

Just three Good Friday games have cleared 40 points or more. The average for the last five games is 35.8.

Combining each teamโ€™s total score from this year sees the total only averaging out at 33 points.

Does the Winner of the Good Friday Clash Finish Higher on the Ladder at the End of the Season?

Recently, yes. The last six winners of the Good Friday clash from 2015 to 2022 have gone onto a higher finishing position by the end of the year.

But from 2012 to 2015, the loser went on to have the better ladder position by yearโ€™s end.
