Derby day delight for Hull FC as they score 40 unanswered, second-half points to beat cross city rivals Hull KR 56-12.

Rovers thought they’d opened the scoring after four minutes. Former FC player Tommy Lee used his strength to get over, however the video referee deemed it as a double movement.
Two minutes later, Jake Connor scored the first points of the match as he burst through the Rovers defence.
In the next set, Hull knocked on and the Robins spread the ball wide and Jimmy Keinhorst struck back. Hull immediately hit back as a cross field kick by Connor was plucked out the air by Jack Logan.
Less than five minutes later, Logan crossed again. Hull made a sweeping move to the right and Connor Wynne passed to Logan who strolled in. The Black and Whites led 18-6 after 20 minutes.
Just before half-time, another former FC man Craig Hall got over. A well worked move saw a perfectly timed run and inside ball for Hall. FC led 18-12 at the break.
Any chance of a comeback looked to be snuffed out when Mark Minichello broke through the line. The Italian fooled Hall with a dummy and Hull looked to be in control.
The game looked over when Joe Westerman barged over as he collided with the post before getting the ball down. This started the FC onslaught.
It wouldn’t be a derby without a card. Ben Crooks was deemed to have produced a shoulder charge against Sneyd. Scott Taylor looked to get revenge by striking him. Referee Ben Thaler gave the penalty to Hull and sent both players to the sin bin.
The next two tries came from former Rovers players, Albert Kelly and Mickey Paea. With eight minutes to go, Hull were bearing down on the 50 points mark, with 42 already on the board.
Hull-born Logan rounded off his hat-trick after sprinting down the touchline and backed himself before running underneath the sticks. Logan became the 18th player to score a hat-trick in a Hull derby.
Young fullback Wynne rounded off a near perfect second half performance for Hull. A long break was finished off by Wynne as he touched slid in underneath the sticks. The 56-12 win moves FC up to fourth in the table.
FOUR POINTERS
Only second home win
Hull came into the fixture only having beaten bottom-placed Leeds Rhinos at the KCOM until today. The dominant performance will give them confidence for their next home fixture against Wakefield Trinity. Trinity have already beaten Hull at the KCOM this season.
No sequence for east Hull
Rovers had won the previous two fixtures against the west side of Hull and were looking to go on a strong winning run. FC had previously won seven against KR until last season; however they will look to repeat the feat over the next few years.
Hull could be a real threat
The poor start to the season coincided with injuries to key players, however seven wins out of their last nine, they’re on a roll. The attacking presence of Jake Connor, Albert Kelly and Marc Sneyd will make it hard for any side. A tough trip to the Totally Wicked Stadium on Monday to meet St Helens will test how far this side have come since the early rounds.
Logan much improved
Jack Logan was sent to the Toronto Wolfpack early on in the season, due to a lack of game time with the Black and Whites. The 23-year old has taken his opportunity well in absence of Ratu Naulago. With his ability to place centre as well, he will be a useful asset.
