Lachlan Coote – St Helens

There seems to be some doubt from parts of St Helens’ supporters over whether Lachlan Coote can replace last year’s Man of Steel, Ben Barba. You cannot however, be a bad player if you are an NRL Grand Final winner in a pivotal position like full back. It could be argued that Saints are getting a more rounded full back in Coote. For someone who had twinkle toes in attack, Barba’s feet seemed to be planted in quicksand when it came to defending in one on one situations. The Scotland international brings a more defensively sound game as well as a left-footed kicking game which will take some pressure off Danny Richardson.
