Warrington Wolves vs Leeds Rhinos – Round 1

There are two reasons why this game is a must watch on the opening weekend of the season. Firstly this is the first chance to see new half-back signing Blake Austin in a primrose and blue jersey. Austin is already the early favourite for the Steve Prescott Man of Steel award and it will be interesting to see how much of an influence he has on Warrington’s attacking prowess. Secondly, David Furner will take the reins for the first time. A disappointing season last year left the Rhinos fighting for survival in the Middle Eights. This game away to the 2018 grand finalists will provide a good test and will be an indicator on what is to come in 2019.
