We’ve scanned through the latest Rugby League news and brought you the latest rumours and gossip.

Toronto to re-draft a former player

The Toronto Wolfpack seems keen on securing the return of Canadian Player, Quinn Ngawati. The Victoria born player was sent alongside teammate Ryan Burroughs to the London Skolars on loan in March 2018. However, Toronto recalled him in June, before announcing his departure for the British Columbia in October 2018 for a career in aviation.

According to League Express, Toronto has been talking to the former player about returning to the Lamport Stadium. The 20-year-old was one of the players included in the Toronto’s inaugural squad, playing three games under Former coach Paul Rowley.

Frawley Set to Return to the NRL

After parting ways with the Huddersfield Giants, Matt Frawley is now getting closer to making a return in the NRL. The Australian half-back arrived at Huddersfield as a high-profile signing ahead of the 2019 season, though he had trouble finding his top form.

The half-back is currently holding talks with the NRL Grand Finalists, the Canberra Raiders. Frawley bid farewell to his teammates at Huddersfield late last week, before flying back to Australia. The Canberra is eager to sign a half-back in their squad for the 2020 season, following the departure of Aidan Sezer, who joined Huddersfield.

Burrell to Play Reserves

According to Warrington Wolves, the cross-code recruit, Luther Burrell, will significantly benefit from the return of the reserve rugby league. The Wolves Chief executive, Karl Fitzpatrick, says Burrell needs to get away from the limelight while making mistakes. As such, Burrell’s game is set to improve while playing in the reserves.

New Faces at Widnes

Currently, the Widnes Vikings are trailing a host of players, including Connor Dwyer, the former Swinton forward. According to League Express, the Vikings are also on trial with full-back Connor Williams, hooker Callum Wood, Back-rower Jordan Case, hooker Lewis Hulme, and winger Kevin Brown.

Calls for NRL to loan players to the Super League

Former Wigan Warriors head coach Michael Maguire has called the authorities to establish a system that will allow NRL clubs to loan players to the Super League mid-season. Maguire told the press that the current system has many challenges as a player needs to play first grade at the national league before getting a visa. However, that needs to change to create a better game in both leagues.
