Rookie of the Year – Payne Haas

An outstanding year for teenage star Payne Haas who broke through for New South Wales Origin selection and was rewarded with national selection at the end of the year.

Haas was the forward who got the Broncos rolling. The try against Penrith Panthers on the eve of the NRL finals series showed how hard he is to contain in open play.

The most impressive thing besides the amount of go-forward he has, is that there’s a low error rate in his game.

If Brisbane can take anything away from their season, Haas’ first full season in the top grade was phenomenal.
