It is no coincidence that Wakefieldโ€™s tremendous fifth-place finish last year coincided with perhaps the best season of Jacob Millerโ€™s career.

Super League fans know exactly what he is about- flair, panache and a little bit of swagger. When he is on-form, Miller is one of the best half-backs in the league.

Being one of the most free-scoring playmakers in the English game will certainly be a key factor that any fantasy league player will bear in mind.

ยฃ125,000 for a player who is capable of exceeding 50-60 fantasy points on a consistent basis is dirt cheap, and someone that you should certainly be considering to fill the number six berth in your squad.

  1. Ben Murdoch-Masila (Warrington Wolves)- ยฃ140k

Big Ben has arrived at the Halliwell Jones stadium to great fanfare- and rightly so.

He was the star-man at Salford last year, and his arrival at the Wolves could very well be the catalyst for great things for Steve Price and his coaching team.

Murdoch-Masila has wowed fans with his rampaging runs forward and has the passing skills of a back-rower too.

If he can continue the form that he showed throughout the World Cup for Tonga, he will be a huge acquisition for Warrington, and could well develop into their star man too.

ยฃ140,000 is a large chunk of the player budget to use up for your fantasy team, but for a guaranteed performer like BMM, it is most definitely going to be money well spent.

  1. Wellington Albert (Widnes Vikings)- ยฃ80k

Despite all of the tragedy surrounding the death of Kato Ottio prior to his move to the Vikings, Papua New Guinea team-mate Wellington Albert has shown huge character and mental strength to follow through with his move to the North-West, alongside his brother and fellow recruit Stanton.

Wellington was one of the star men for PNG during the 2017 World Cup; his speed, strength and desire to make the extra one or two metres epitomising everything that was good about his national side during the tournament.

If he can bring the same determination and aggression to Super League, he could be a secret weapon for Denis Betts in 2018.

Albert ticks all of the boxes; he will make yards, make tackles, and put his head where it hurts for the greater good of his team.

If you want someone like this who, when given the chance, will make metres and accumulate points for your side, he could well be a cost-savvy alternative to some of the more expensive front-rowers in the game.

  1. Tom Davies (Wigan Warriors)- ยฃ125k

Last but certainly not least, Davies makes the list after a remarkable breakthrough year at the Warriors, scoring 14 times in 24 games last season.

The 21-year old was rewarded for his impressive string of displays with a new contract off Shaun Wane and co. Now, he looks set to make 2018 his own.

He quickly became a fans favourite alongside fellow youngster Liam Marshall for his finishing instincts, and will inevitably use those same traits to his advantage during the upcoming campaign.

He has been given the number two shirt- previously worn by the likes of Josh Charnley and Mark Calderwood- but will need to perform consistently every week, given the competition for the two wing spots in the Warriors setup.

Despite his moderately large price, Davies can certainly be a star performer of the 2018 edition as he continues his upward journey to stardom at the DW Stadium.
