Try Scoring

200 NRL Career Tries

In 2025, he will turn out for the South Sydney Rabbitohs in his 12th season in the top grade.

He needs 18 tries to break Ken Irvine’s record 212 career tries.

Should he remain fit and in form, he’s a chance to break Irvine’s record by the end of the season.

150 NRL Career Tries

Josh Addo-Carr (140)

The Foxx will start life at his fourth club, requiring 10 tries to break the 150 NRL try barrier.

He scored six at the Wests Tigers where he made his NRL debut, before crossing 96 times at the Storm. He scored 38 most recently with the Bulldogs.

James Tedesco (138)

Teddy is on a collision course to bring up 150 NRL career tries, and at the same time reach 100 career tries at the Sydney Roosters (currently on 88).

100 NRL Career Tries

Cody Walker (99)

Cody Walker enters his 10th season in the NRL, needing one try to become the latest player into the 100-try club.

The 35-year-old has scored 34 of his 99 tries at Stadium Australia, followed by 13 at Suncorp Stadium – including in the 2021 Grand Final loss to the Panthers.

Ronaldo Mulitalo (83)

Set to begin his seventh season in the top grade, Ronaldo Mulitalo should reach 100 NRL career tries late in the season. He’s averaged 18 tries per season since 2022.

Mulitalo’s most success opponent is the Cowboys where he’s crossed 11 times. He completed his first career hat-trick against the Tigers in round 19 last year.

50 NRL Career Tries

Murray Taulagi (49)

The Queensland Origin flyer scored 11 tries last year for the Cowboys. He is set to bring up the half-century in the early stages of the 2025 campaign.

David Fifita (49)

Fifita is one away from reaching 50 career tries.

However, his try-scoring potency has diminished since a career high 17 in 2021. Since then, he’s touched down 19 times from 60 games.

Zac Lomax (49)

The Eels’ prized recruit is one shy of 50 career tries.

He could also pass 1,000 career points in the NRL, requiring 169 points to do so. This is assuming Lomax is given the goalkicking duties over Mitch Moses. Last year he scored 186 points in the competition.

Marcelo Montoya (49)

Montoya returns to Belmore for his second stint with the Bulldogs.

He is predicted to be part of the Bulldogs’ starting line-up in round 1 and is looking to add to the 19 tries he’s scored for the club in his previous tenure between 2017 and 2020.

Mitch Moses (46)

The Eels’ veteran heads into his 12th NRL season looking to pass 50 career tries. His 2024 campaign was severely hampered by injury, resulting in only 8 matches and crossing 4 times.

Angus Crichton (45)

Crichton was in career-best form in 2024 with a superb club season: also picking up the Wally Lewis Medal and Brad Fittler Medal for best Origin player and Blues player.

With 11 tries last season, he should pass 50 sometime during the campaign.

Alofiana Khan-Pereira (44)

With two seasons under his belt, Khan-Pereira has set the NRL stage alight with 44 tries from 44 appearances.

Last year alone he scored 24 in 21 games.

Point Scoring

1,500 NRL Career Points

Mitchell Moses (1,301)

Moses is the closest to the 1,500 NRL career point mark of any current players in our game. However, it’s unlikely he’ll break the barrier as he’s only broken the 200-point barrier in a season twice (2019 and 2022), and Zac Lomax will be the preferred goalkicker for the Eels in 2025.

1,000 NRL Career Points

Zac Lomax (831)

Zac Lomax is the most likely to break the 1,000 NRL point barrier this season. In the last three seasons he’s averaged 165 points per season, which included a career season-high tally of 14 tries last season. Only injury and representative duty could stand in the way of him crossing the milestone in 2025.

Nick Meaney (818)

Nick Meaney has quietly moved up the points tally record in the past two seasons by accumulating 454 points as Melbourne’s preferred goalkicker. If Melbourne have a productive year and end up at the top of the ladder, it seems very likely Meaney will pass 1,000 career points.

500 NRL Career Points

Jamal Fogarty (462)

The Raiders halfback missed most of the 2024 campaign through injury. He may be the Raiders’ only genuine goalkicking option in 2025 if Ethan Sanders is unable to crack a top-grade spot ahead of Ethan Strange. If he is the preferred kicker, the 500 points will be in sight early in 2025.

Ryan Papenhuyzen (454)

The former Clive Churchill Medal winner will need at least 12 tries to cross the 500 points mark and could be aided by a few conversions as a back-up option for Nick Meaney. Whether he breaks the record will depend on him steering clear of injury.

Chad Townsend (448)

At 35 years old, Townsend is a small chance to break the 500-point barrier given Sam Walker will be the preferred goalkicker for the Roosters in 2025. Townsend managed 57 points in his 70 games at the Cowboys, which suggests he may not reach the milestone before retiring.

Tom Trbojevic (420)

Tommy Turbo will need 20 tries to get to 500 career points. Last season he scored 17, which was his best since the 2021 season where he amassed 28 tries. He will be an each-way bet to reach the milestone by season’s end.

Kyle Flanagan (368)

Kyle Flanagan is within reach should Val Holmes be unavailable to kick goals for the Dragons in 2025. This might be more of a long shot as the only time he’s scored more than 100 points in a season was in 2020 for the Roosters, where he scored 198 points.
