6. Jessica Sergis Rookie of the Year
After an incredible performance for New South Wales last year, Jessica Sergis narrowly missed selection on the World Cup. After being snatched up by the Dragons, she had an incredible series which saw her score some fantastic tries, and complete even more try saving tackles. Her incredible defensive and attacking efforts saw her win Rebel Sports Rookie of the Year Award, as well as earn another Jillaroos jersey.
5. Women taking up Membership
With the popularity of NRL Memberships, some clubs this year introduced memberships for their side in the NRLW or Harvey Norman NSW Women’s Premiership. While the amount of memberships purchased overall is unknown, this is still a big step for the professionalism and following of the NRLW.
4. Isabelle Kelly wins Golden Boot Award and Nellie Doherty medal
It was no surprise when Isabelle Kelly took out the Nellie Doherty medal for Player of the Match after a stellar State of Origin performances, which saw score a double and win New South Wales the match. Kelly was also a key player for the Roosters in the NRLW campaign and then topped that off with an outstanding international performance for the Jillaroos, which saw her also win the Golden Boot award.
