Venue: Emerald Headingley
Kick-off: Saturday 8th August, 4:15pm

Head-to-Head

Last Five Results: Catalans 36-18 Castleford (15/02/20), Catalans 37-16 Castleford (22/04/19), Castleford 20-4 Catalans (01/02/19), Castleford 36-4 Catalans (01/09/18), Catalans 44-16 Castleford (30/06/18)

Preview

Catalans Dragons are looking to bounce back after a disappointing display against St Helens last time out, while Cas’ will be playing their first competitive match in almost five months when the two sides meet at Headingley.

The Tigers have included Alex Foster in their 21-man squad, who could make his first appearance since suffering a knee injury in March 2019, and England youth full-back Bailey Hodgson could make his senior debut for the club.

The Dragons remain without the suspended Sam Tomkins whilst Micky McIlorum, David Mead, Lewis Tierney and Mickael Simon are all sidelined through injury.

Prediction

Whilst Catalans have already beaten Castleford in Super League season, winning in Perpignan back in February, I fancy Daryl Powell’s side to exact revenge on Saturday. The Dragons struggled against Saints last week in scoring just six points, and Cas should be well-suited to the six again rule, making them clear favourites to take the two points.
