Preview
Hull sacked head coach Lee Radford in the immediate aftermath of their home defeat to Warrington, in their last game prior to the season restart, making Sunday’s clash at Headingley against Salford, Andy Last’s first game in charge as interim head coach.
Salford could hand a debut to new signing Morgan Escare, set to feature as a trialist having agreed a three-year-deal with the Red Devils from next season, but will be without Oliver Roberts, Kevin Brown and Andy Ackers through injury.
Hull will be without Scott Taylor and Masi Matongo through injury, but otherwise have a fully fit squad to choose from, with a host of stars returning to the Airlie Birds 21-man squad having recovered from their respective injuries during the lockdown break.
Prediction
Both Salford and Hull will be disappointed with their respective starts to the season, making it a must-win game for both teams. With a new interim coach at the helm and a host of key players returning from injury, Hull should be favourites, however, Ian Watson’s nous could come to the fore when Salford need it most.
