Preview

Wakefield have endured a tricky start to the season, while Wigan have struggled away from the DW Stadium ahead of Sunday’s clash at Headingley.

Trinity have named new signings Liam Kay and Tony Gigot in their 21-man squad, with youngster Yusuf Aydin in line to make his Super League debut. Jordy Crowther and Matty Ashurst miss out with minor knocks.

Warriors captain Sean O’Loughlin returns to the side after suffering an eye injury back in February and Joe Greenwood is also included after returning from his loan spell with Leeds. Ben Flower and Ollie Partington miss out through suspension, with Oliver Gildart and Tony Clubb both injured.

Prediction

While Wigan have struggled away from home this season, they should be favourites for Sunday’s clash and will be buoyed by the return of their skipper. However, the addition of Tony Gigot to Wakefield’s squad certainly makes them a more dangerous side on paper but shouldn’t be enough to bridge the gap in quality to the Warriors.
