Wigan Warriors vs Leeds Rhinos

Venue: Totally Wicked Stadium
Kick-off: Sunday 16th August, 6:30pm

Head-to-Head

Last Five Results: Leeds 14-23 Wigan (14/06/19), Wigan 34-16 Leeds (08/02/19), Wigan 46-8 Leeds (28/06/18), Leeds 8-9 Wigan (13/04/18), Leeds 32-16 Wigan (04/08/17)

Preview

Wigan moved top of the Super League table after their narrow win against Wakefield last weekend, while Leeds were brought crashing back down to earth by St Helens, suffering a heavy defeat at Headingley, after their stunning Golden Point win against Huddersfield the week previously.

Adrian Lam is without three first-team players for Sunday’s clash with Tommy Leuluai and Sean O’Loughlin both injured and George Burgess missing through suspension.

Richard Agar has a host of players returning to his squad with Konrad Hurrell, Robert Lui and Liam Sutcliffe all coming back from injury and Bodene Thompson included after signing on loan from Toronto on Thursday.

Prediction

Recent history has been on Wigan’s side in this fixture and whilst they stumbled over the line against Wakefield last time out, should have enough to beat a Leeds side who were well off the pace last weekend. However, with a host of first-team players returning to the squad, the Rhinos should put up more of a fight than they did against Saints, at the Totally Wicked Stadium on Sunday.
