GROUP B: FIJI 60 defeated ITALY 4

Fiji have kept their quarter finals hopes alive with a huge win over Italy at Kingston Park, Newcastle.

Fiji ran in 10 tries โ€“ with doubles to Viliame Kikau, Maika Sivo, and Penioni Tagituimua. Brandon Wakeham (7/7), Koroisau (2/2), and Henry Raiwalui (1/1) were perfect with the boot.

After last weekโ€™s hat-trick, Jake Maizen scored Italyโ€™s only points in the 55th minute, his fourth try in the tournament so far.

GROUP C: LEBANON 32 defeated IRELAND 14

Lebanon have all but sealed a quarter finals spot with a comfortable win at Leigh Sports Village Stadium.

They led 20-4 at half-time, with tries to Reece Robinson, Jacob Kiraz, and Brad Morkos.

But this wasn’t going to be another 50+ blowout, as Louis Senior (scoring his second try) and Ed Chamberlain gave Ireland some respectability.

Though Lebanon are third in Group C (behind Ireland on points differential), they should beat Jamaica to make the quarters, while Ireland play New Zealand.
