MATCH REPORT

However, a poor finish to the set gave the Storm a seven tackle set going back the other way. A Nelson Asofa-Solomona offload setup the first try to Young Tonumaipea.
Just minutes later, Asofa-Solomona went from hero to villain when he threw a flick pass to nobody. Attempting to keep the ball in play, Xavier Coates passed back in-field straight to Kurt Capewell, who raced away to score the Broncos first try against the run of play.
Unphased by the Capewell try, the Storm soon were able to pry open the Broncos defence again. A quick pass from Harry Grant put Tui Kamikamica over for a try from close range. An error from the Broncos in the next set opened the door for the Storm to score their third try, this time through David Nofoaluma.
After fending off the attack of the Broncos, Cameron Munster scored off a Harry Grant kick before the break, as the Storm took a commanding 24-6 lead into halftime.
The Storm started the second half right where they left off. Harry Grant darted from dummy-half to score a try of his own. The points kept flowing, as Justin Olam brushed through two tackles for a solo try. Despite being ahead by 30, the Storm stayed ruthless in attack. A late offload from Kenny Bromwich put Olam over for his second try in five minutes.
After conceding 30 unanswered points, finally the Broncos found an answer to stop the surge of Storm tries. Adam Reynolds chipped a kick over the defence and Corey Oates produced a juggling act to get the ball down for a try.
Unfortunately for the Broncos, the Storm weren’t done scoring. Tries to Jahrome Hughes, Nelson Asofa-Solomona, and David Nofoaluma in the last 10 minutes saw the Storm crack the 60 point barrier, embarrassing the Broncos in a record-breaking night at Suncorp Stadium.
