MATCHDAY PREVIEW

The Tigers were ever so close to getting the win over the Dragons last week. They did score the same amount of tries as the Dragons: the only difference was goalkicking. Winger Junior Tupou was on the end of some good plays, scoring a double and setting one up for Api Korisau with a deft kick.

Daine Laurie added some much-needed spark in the attack coming into five-eighth, and it’s a shame for the Tigers that he is leaving next season. Luke Brooks returns this weekend at the expense of Brendan Wakeham: it will be interesting to see what sort of partnership Brooks and Laurie strike up.

Last week the Rabbitohs came up against a red-hot Broncos side. They played well in patches, with Alex Johnston and Campbell Graham scoring some good tries. However they needed an 80-minute effort to beat the Broncos and couldn’t produce it.

Even though teams can’t rely on one player, that player can sometimes lift their teammates to play better. Latrell Mitchell is one of those players, and he returns this weekend after a lengthy stint on the sideline. It comes at the right time of the season for the Rabbitohs to make a run for the finals.

LAST TEN MATCHES

Rabbitohs 8, Tigers 2
